Eriogonum latifolium (Seaside buckwheat)
A silver leaved ground cover, this spreads to around half a metre wide. Scalloped leaves with white reverse are a lovely, full sun alternative to lambs ears. During mid to late spring flower buds begin to form and these pom pom like inflorescences reach around 30cm high. Ivory coloured to begin with, they take on soft ochre to burgundy hues as the flowers age. Full sun to some afternoon shade in really hot locations. Will take drier conditions once established.
