Aster laevis calliope (Michaelmas daisy)
This is a tough little aster that produces unusual blue tinted, lilac flowers on black stems from mid summer until late autumn. Foliage is deep green with a burgundy reverse on the leaf, making it attractive in its own right. A strong grower it can spread up to 1m over time, but is easily keep smaller in drier soils. Full sun to afternoon shade. 0.75mH.
