Dichroa febrifuga (Blue evergreen hydrangea; Evergreen hydrangea; Chinese quinine)
In the hydrangea family, Dichroa has the advantage of being evergreen making it arguably somewhat more useful as a landscape plant. Grow in the same conditions as hydrangea: lightly moist soils, dappled shade and slightly acidic to slightly alkaline soil pH. More acidic soils while give a deeper blue flower whilst alkaline soils produces more violet in the flowers. Summer flowering. 1.5mH x 1.5mW. A useful plant for shady spots in the garden.
