Sprekelia formosissima (Aztec lily; Jacobean lily)
Gorgeous deep red flowers are produced in summer and again in autumn on tall stems that stand above the foliage. Makes an excellent bulb for the garden or also pots and will naturalise over time. Winter dormant, the foliage shoots in spring before the flowering period. Feed with a balanced granular fertiliser in spring and again in autumn to get the best out of the bulbs.
