Rudbeckia laciniata (Cut leaf coneflower)
Slowly spreading rhizomatically, this rudbeckia can make sizeable clumps of low foliage from which erupts tall stems of golden flowers in summer. Terrific with grasses or other tall perennials, it produces colour when many plants are taking a summer rest. Grows well in heavy clays or sandier soils. Needs some supplementary water early summer to support plenty of flowering. 1.5mH x 1.0mW. Full sun to part shade.
