A terrific small tree for hot dry areas, the Vitex agnus-castus is underrated as a winter deciduous tree for solar passive use. Growing up to 4mH at a fast rate (compared to more traditional deciduous trees used in WA), it has the added benefit of lilac flowers in early summer. It's a stunning sight in flower and would make an excellent street tree to stop traffic! Dry tolerant once established possibly the only down side is the leaf looks similar to that illegal smoking herb, so may attract naive folk!! Full sun. 4mH x 4mW
