Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens'
Fantastic annual that germinates with the arrival of autumn/winter rains, grows over winter and flowers from late winter through to late spring. Its glaucus blue-green foliage contrasts with the deep purple flowers, that appear in nodding heads on the end of the stems. Grows happily in full sun to part shade and is unfussy about soil type aside from really heavy clay. Will self seed at the base of the parent plant and these are easily moved to fill in gaps in the winter garden. Great beneath or near deciduous plants. 0.5mH x 0.25mW.
