One of those plants that once seen, it's never forgotten! Large grey-green leaves form a mound of foliage at ground level that can reach over 1m wide. In the second year of growth tall flower spikes are produced up to 3m high. A multitude of golden yellow flowers run along the stems creating a golden candelabra effect. This verbascum is the best for the candelabra flower. After flowering the plant gradually declines but not without producing plenty of seed to perpetuate itself in the garden. Full sun to some afternoon shade. A splash of water during hot weather helps keep it looking good.
