Scabiosa drakensbergensis (Drakensberg scabiosa)
The taller growing, shrubby scabiosa are so useful in the garden, especially those that self seed and make their way to unexpectedly delightful positions. This is one such scabiosa, making a small shrub which gradually grows wider as seedlings germinate around it. Unwanted seedlings are easily pulled out or relocated. Flowers are produced on long stems up to 30cm long, and these are terrific in the vase. Best with some water over summer but rewards with constant flowering. 0.5mH x 0.5mW, full sun to some afternoon shade.
