If you like butter yellow coloured flowers, you'll love this salvia. Huge 30cm flowers of golden yellow stand atop this salvia like glowing beacons to birds, butterflies, bees, ladybirds and humans! Flowering from late spring into autumn, it is best placed somewhere to accommodate its larger size; up to 1.8mH and 1.5mW. Unusual square stems can be a little brittle so protect from very strong winds and rambunctious children/pets. Prune down old stems to new basal growth over winter for a refresh of new growth in spring. Full sun to a little afternoon shade, and lightly moist soils is best.
